The Black Satellites of Ghana opened their CAF under-20 African Cup of Nations with a frustrating 1-1 draw with the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Ghana missed a great opportunity to move top of Group C of the competition after fellow group members, Senegal and the Central African Republic had engaged in a tough 1-1 draw as well.
Sampodria striker and captain for DR Congo, Ntanda-Lukisa opened the scoring of the game in the 16th minute, rising above unsuspecting Ghanaian defenders Essel and Ofori McCarthy to put his side in the lead.
The young Ghanaians settled their nerves in the nervy opening minutes of the game as Aziz Musibau beautifully tapped home the equaliser for the four-time African champions eight minutes later.
Following the eventful first-half, the Black Satellites struggled to put a foothold in the game in the second-half despite their opponents emerging the better side, as they held on for what may prove to be a precious point.
Senegal would take on Ghana next on Monday, May 5, at the New Suez Stadium at 6PM.
