Southampton manager, Russel Martin has confirmed the unavailability of winger, Kamaldeen Sulemana, for Ghana’s campaign at the Total Energies Africa Cup of Nations scheduled to kick off in January 2024.
The Saints star was named in Chris Hughton’s 55-man provisional squad for the AFCON. Sulemana has been out of action for two weeks now since he went off with a hamstring injury against Bristol City.
Russel Martin though revealed he intends to inform Black Stars coach, Chris Hughton, about his player’s injury status.
“Kamaldeen won’t be in the squad. I’m sure I’ll chat to Chris (Hughton) about where he is in his fitness.
“He is going to be nowhere near ready for that. He won’t go.
“Kamaldeen will be fit towards the end of January or the start of February. This could change, I don’t know (for sure),” he added.
