Asante-Twum Lifts Lid On Black Stars Injuries

Date:

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) communications director, Henry Asante Twum, has revealed the medical reasons behind the withdrawal of several mainstays.

Injury management within the national team follows a strict protocol, and according to the GFA, clubs must first send notification if a player sustains a physical setback after a match.

The Black Stars’ head of medical department Dr Pambo recommended Brandon Thomas-Asante to be excused from duty after being subbed off in Coventry’s 0-2 away win over Swansea last weekend.

Athletic Bilbao’s hard-fought 2-1 victory over Real Betis took a toll on striker Inaki Williams, who has been allowed to rest by the GFA.

Hamburg star Ransford Yeboah Königsdörffer received a call-up to add to the squad for the upcoming international friendlies against Austria and Germany.
