The head coach of the Black Maidens of Ghana, Joe Nana Adarkwa, has assured his players are fully focused on Argentina.
The Black Maidens are set for a battle against the Argentines on Wednesday for a place in the quarter-finals of the 2026 FIFA Women’s U17 World Cup.
Ghana fought their way into the knockout stages thanks to a commanding 2-0 win over Canada in the last game of Group C.
In an interview with Max FM’s Nana Darkwa Gyasi on the Sports Pack show, he brushed aside concerns of unpaid bonuses, insisting his players have their minds on defeating the South Americans.
“The girls are yet to receive the bonuses owed them after qualifying for the World Cup, but they are focused on the game against Argentina,” said Coach Adarkwa.
The crunch match between Ghana and Argentina will come off on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at 6PM GMT.
