Angry Ebusua Dwarfs coach Ernest Quartey has publicly criticised goalkeeper Razak Issah for his conduct during his side’s 1-0 loss to Elmina Sharks at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium on Sunday.
The regional duel between the Sharks and Dwarfs was heading for a draw but on the 87th minute mark the goalkeeper elbowed a Sharks player inside the box in an off-the-ball incident leading to a penalty which was converted by Bernard Boateng.
Irate fans of the club charged on the goalkeeper at the final whistle with some accusing him of indulging in match-fixing allegation but were restrained by security men on duty.
Head coach of the Crabs could not hide his anger at the final whistle: “What he did must be condemned because he let the team down with his silly conduct,” he vented his frustration.
In his reaction Issah Razak has publicly apologised for his conduct and assured fans that he would not trade the club for anything.
Meanwhile coach Quartey has maintained a vote of confidence in the goalkeeper by insisting he is still his top goalkeeper.
“He is still our number 1 because he is a quality goalkeeper just that he made that silly mistake that cost the entire team,” he added.
