Veteran Ghanaian actor and TV host Akwasi Boadi, popularly known as Akrobeto, was involved in a car accident on Friday, May 23, while en route to Kumasi.
The crash occurred near Konongo on the Accra-Kumasi highway. Eyewitnesses say Akrobeto’s vehicle collided with a heavy-duty truck under unclear circumstances. He was reportedly alone in the vehicle.
Emergency responders arrived promptly, and though the front of his car was heavily damaged, Akrobeto escaped without serious injuries. No other casualties have been reported.
Footage from the scene circulating online shows the extent of the damage. Police are yet to confirm the cause, with investigations ongoing.
Akrobeto, known for his popular “Real News” show on UTV, remains a beloved figure in Ghanaian entertainment.
