Former FIFA U-20 World Cup winner and Black Stars legend Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu has lamented the current crop of players of the men’s senior national football team’s passion and commitment after yet another heartbreak.

The Black Stars’ dream of reaching the 2025 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco was dimmed after a 2-0 defeat to Sudan in matchday four of the qualifiers.

Agyemang-Badu, who has to his name 78 caps for Ghana, questioned why the players are unable to perform for the country but put in excellent displays at their respective clubs.

“They do very well at their clubs, but the moment they get to Ghana, it turns into something else.”

“You don’t have a team, you don’t have character, you don’t have passion, you don’t have anything,” he said.

Otto Addo now has his work cut out for him as his Black Stars now need to win the remainder of the games against Angola and Niger with the hope of Sudan losing theirs.
