Netizens have taken a swipe on Afua Asantewaa, labelling her a liar and ungrateful for claiming the former Vice President Dr Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia only gave her sore throat medicine after her 2023 Sing-a-thon attempt.
Asantewaa in a recent interview said she did not receive the 20k the then Veep of the erstwhile administration promised her.
A video which went viral on social media, done by Asantewaa’s brother accused Socrate Sarfo of not giving the 20k to Asantewaa.
In the light of this, Socrate Sarfo was interviewed and he explained that the money was given to Afua Asantewaa’s husband, Kofi Aduonum.
A separate interview with Tilly on Hitz FM also confirmed that the money together with Papaye fast food were given to Kofi Aduonum and described Asantewaa a liar for her claims.
Meanwhile, in an interview with the United Showbiz, Asantewaa indicated she only learnt that the money was paid by Bawumia only the night during the interview.
She alleged that Nana Reagan, her former team member had earlier said the money paid by Bawumia was just for the boys.
Against this backdrop, netizens and followers had been hounding her on social media, holding her accountable for her ambiguous statements, noting that Bawumia paid for her vacation with her husband at Royal Senchi.
They have since called on her to retract her statements against Bawumia and advised her against her ungrateful nature.
Many have also expressed concern about how she had ruined the brand she built, others have also accused her of being a scam.
They allegedly said she solicited funds to erect streetlights and did not honour her promise.
