AFCON 23 QUALIFIERS: Ghana target tenth straight appearance

Date:

The four-time champions of Africa haven’t missed the competition since Tunisia 2004 and are aiming for their tenth consecutive appearance in the Africa Cup of Nations.

Ghana has come close to winning it twice, making it to the final in 2010 and 2015 before falling to Egypt and Ivory Coast, respectively.

However, if they lose to the Central African Republic on Thursday in Kumasi, the West Africa powerhouse run the prospect of losing out on Ivory Coast 2023.

The Black Stars will just need one point to secure a spot in the AFCON in 2023.

After the disappointment of AFCON 2021, where the squad was ousted from the competition at the group stage, the players are ready to make a comeback to the competition.
