Renowned actor Adjetey Anang has vowed not to accept movie roles that would portray obsceneness and violence, regardless of the money involved.
According to him, his decision stemmed from personal ideals he has grown to develop.
In a media interview, Adjetey Anang stated that growth comes with different ideologies and that he would not accept such roles, which would not portray good moral conduct.
“There are characters that I may not play. Somebody else would play it: nude scenes and violent graphic, intimate scenes. That’s the thing. It’s not about the money,” he said.
Adjetey Anang indicated that actors were being misjudged by society and did not want to be seen as the characters he portrayed in movies.
He recounted how Fred Amugi was denied food in Kumasi due to a criminal role he played in a movie.
“And that’s how serious people take it. They can’t draw a line between the craft and the actor,” he added.
