Ghanaian sprinters Abdul-Rasheed Saminu and Benjamin Azamati are making waves at the ongoing 2026 Commonwealth Games.
The two speedsters have booked their spot in the semi-finals of the 100m event of the Games in Glasgow, Scotland.
Rasheed Saminu clocked a time of 10.01 seconds in heat two of the morning’s athletic sessions.
Soon after Saminu’s progression, Azamati also took to the tarmack to finish first in heat 5 of the 100m event.
Azamati recorded a time of 10.00 seconds to advance to the next stage with the hope of securing medals for Ghana.
Meanwhile, Isaac Botsio missed out on a semi-final place after finishing fourth in his qualifiers.
