Dutch Bayer Leverkusen winger Ernest Poku has revealed he is yet to be contacted to play for Ghana.
Poku, 21, has represented the national youth teams of the Netherlands since 2020 and is yet to debut for the senior side.
Speaking to Omar Akatugba after Leverkusen’s 2-2 home draw against Newcastle United in the Champions League, he disclosed he’s yet to be contacted for a role in the Black Stars.
“We have to see. I don’t know yet. I didn’t get the call, so I don’t know,” he said before explaining he would have to discuss it with his Ghanaian parents should he be called up.
Born in Germany and raised in the Netherlands, Poku rose through the ranks of AZ Alkmaar before transferring to Leverkusen.
Since joining the former Bundesliga winners, Poku has amassed 4 goals in 12 appearances so far, while bagging 2 assists.
