In the ongoing trial of the wives of the late highlife musician Daddy Lumba, one increasingly gets emotional.
The sister of Daddy Lumba (Charles Kwadwo Fosuh) broke down in tears while being cross-examined at the Kumasi High Court.
Justice Dorinda Smith-Arthur, the presiding judge, called for a brief suspension of proceedings for Ernestina Fosuh (Akosua Brempomaah) to be calm.
Counsel for Odo Broni (Priscilla Ofori) questioned Akosua Brempomaah if she knew why the late musician named his first son with her client, Calvyn Schindler, and not after any other family member.
Odo Broni and Daddy Lumba got together after he relocated to Ghana from Germany in 2013, where he had lived with his first wife, Akosua Serwaa, and moved to his Tantra Hill residence.
Madam Brempomaah disclosed that Daddy Lumba viewed her as his second mother and mostly confided in her regarding his life after their biological mother passed on nearly 24 years ago.
The sister could not agree with the defence counsel that Daddy Lumba did not perform “Nseyie” when the mother of Akosua Serwaa (first wife) died. She insisted he and other relatives attend the funeral.
She further shot down the notion that Akosua Serwaa returned the “Ti Nsa” (head drink), and even if that had happened, Daddy Lumba would have informed her. This suggests her brother’s marriage with his first wife is still active.
The court adjourned the hearing to Friday, November 21, after Osei Bonsu Kantaka had provided testimony regarding the Asante culture.
