The rise of HIV/AIDS cases is extremely alarming in the Bono Region.

Bono East and Ahafo Regional Technical Coordinator of the Ghana AIDS Commission (GAC), Ahmed Ibrahim Bambila, has revealed nearly 20,000 cases have been recorded in the region.

Mr. Bambila revealed this during the inauguration of the Bono Regional Committee of the Ghana AIDS Commission (RECCOM) in Sunyani on Thursday, November 20, 2025.

He said 875 new cases have been recorded in the region, as Bono Regional Minister Joseph Addae Akwaboa chairs the nine-member RECCOM to help curb HIV insurgence in the region.
