Ghanaian socialite and musician Mona Faiz Montrage, popularly known as Hajia4Reall, is expected to be released today, May 22, 2025, from the Federal Detention Center in Philadelphia after serving a one-year and one-day sentence for fraud-related charges.
According to Graphic Showbiz, the 32-year-old was convicted for conspiring to receive stolen funds linked to romance scams run by a West Africa-based criminal ring.
The group defrauded older Americans of over $2 million, with Montrage reportedly receiving money from around 40 victims through fraudulent schemes, including fake gold shipments and bogus FBI investigations.
Extradited from the UK in May 2023, she pleaded guilty in February 2024 and was sentenced on June 28, 2024, by U.S. District Judge J. Paul Oetken. Beyond prison time, she must serve three years of supervised release, forfeit $216,475, and repay $1,387,458 in restitution.
Court documents show that her legal team secured approval for her return to Ghana following her release.
