The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced both emergency and planned maintenance works in the Greater Accra and Ashanti Regions on Thursday, May 15, 2025, which will result in power outages in several areas between 9 am and 6 pm.
In Greater Accra, emergency works from 9 am to 4 pm will affect Tseaddo, Marie Court Estate, Avenue Junction, New England, and nearby communities.
Ashanti Region will see three separate planned maintenance operations:
- From 9 am to 6 pm, towns including Adankwame, Achiase, Kronum Cement, Nketiah, Asuofua, Offinso, Kokote, Abira, Tetrem, and Barekese will be affected.
- Between 9 am and 5 pm, areas such as Fawoade, Mamponteng, Ntonso, Asenemaso, Aboaso, and Hemang will also experience outages.
- Another set of outages from 9 am to 5 pm will hit Piase, Deduako, Mim, New Brodakwaw, Beposo, Nyameani, and nearby areas.
ECG says the maintenance is crucial for improving electricity reliability and apologizes for any inconvenience caused. Residents are advised to take precautions and plan ahead.
