King Promise reacts after Stonebwoy snub

Date:

The reigning Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) Artiste of the Year, King Promise ‎says the congratulatory message he received from the Afro Dancehall musician, Stonebwoy is nothing to talk about.‎

‎After King Promise’s massive win, the former Artist of the Year took to his X handle to celebrate the current winner but King Promise never showed any appreciation.

‎”Congratulations @IamKingPromise on your win and your debut entry into the league of AOTY winners. You’re Welcome,” Stonebwoy tweeted on May 12.

‎In light of the debate that has sparked due to King Promise’s silence, during an interview with a sister station Hitz FM, on May 13, King Promise was asked why he had not responded to Stonebwoy’s congratulatory message.

‎ “I have received the congrats, I don’t want to talk about it. I don’t really think it’s like anything to speak about,” King Promise said.

‎He further asserted that he had not seen the message personally but was informed.

‎“I’ve been told of it, I have actually. This morning, I have not been on X. I don’t think it is a big deal. I have responded to a few, the ones I saw when I went on the app, I responded to everyone,” King Promise added.

‎Meanwhile, King Promise beat off competition from Stonebwoy, Joe Mettle, Black Sheriff, King Paluta, Team Eternity and Kwaku Smoke to emerge the winner of the ultimate TGMA.

‎Stonebwoy, also won the Best Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year, Reggae/Dancehall Song of the Year (with Psalm 23) and Best Music Video of the Year.

‎The two started logging horns in the 2024 edition of the awards in which Stonebwoy was crowned the winner and now King Promise had taken the mantle from Stonebwoy.
