Renowned musician, Article Wan has denied rumors that he is tapping into the success of legendary musicians to make himself relevant in the industry.
The artist who is believed to have lost his relevance is alleged to be seizing opportunities to gate crush events that legendary musicians organize in his bid to redeem his lost name.
Reacting to the assertion on e-Quick, an entertainment program on Max TV in Accra on Monday, the “Feel Okay” crooner explained that legends had to be celebrated.
He said he saw an opportunity created by a legendary Ghanaian highlife musician, Daddy Lumba and he decided to seize the opportunity to perform at Lumba’s UK concert uninvited.
“Yes I was not invited but when I saw that opportunity, I embraced it. Come on, it is Daddy Lumba we are talking about here. He is a legend! See, we have to carry our legends,” Article Wan stated.
Maintaining his stance that his actions were not to rebuild his name in the industry or to look relevant, he indicated that he went to perform to support a legendary musician for his event to be successful.
“Actually one of the organizers of that event is my friend so to me it was Daddy Lumba and my friend that’s why I went to perform,” Article Wan explained.
He therefore expressed the need for musicians in the country to hold the legends in awe while supporting the act of Sarkodie for bowing in front of Daddy Lumba.
