#JAKuffuorCup: Lamptey-Amidu perfect combo wins cup for Kotoko

Date:

Kumasi Asante Kotoko produced a stunning 2-1 comeback win over fellow Ghana Premier League side Nsoatreman to lift the J.A. Kuffuor trophy at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday night.

Abdul Rahman had given Nsoatreman FC a first-half lead despite the Porcupine Warriors dictating the play.

Kotoko’s ever-reliable foreign import, Steven Mukwuala, deservedly restored parity for the former Ghana Premier League champions.

The Porcupine Warriors’ constant pressure paid off as a lovely combination between the creative Richmond Lamptey and Peter Amid saw the latter snatch the winner for his side.

What a morale-boosting win must be for Kotoko as they get ready to push to the summit of the 2023–24 Ghana Premier League when it resumes on February 24, 2024.
