A restaurateur, Failatu Abdul-Razak, is set to break the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking time on January 1–5, 2024, at the modern City hotel, Tamale.
She is challenging the Irish record holder, Chef Alan Fisher’s remarkable feat of 119 hours and 57 minutes.
Failatu, in a viral video, has appealed for support from Ghanaians to be able to break this feat.
She explained that she has received permission from Guinness, and per the rules, she had to cook for 120 hours with a five-minute break each hour and a 20-minute break every four hours.
“Believe me that even the 120 hours I gave to Guinness World Record is a surprise I want to give to Ghanaians.”
“I actually wanted to do much more than 120hours so that anyone who is going to embark on the cooking marathon is going to find it difficult,” she said.
Faliatu declared that the mission was a national assignment and urged the whole nation to be in the picture during the stipulated time.
“Because if I miss this believe me that I have put our president to shame, I have put the people who groomed me to shame, I have put people who supported me in my lowest and believe in this food journey about me to shame. I have put my family to shame,” she added.
After the announcement of her participation, Faliatu has since received a good response from Ghanaians and thanked them for their support.
