MAX ENTERTAINMENT: Necessary mechanisms needed for musicians outside Ghana – Wills Bonney

Date:

International gospel musician Wills Bonney has called for collaborative efforts for Ghanaian musicians based outside the country to promote their music easily in Ghana without being bullied.

He said that many musicians who are working outside Ghana are unable to compete with musicians who reside in the country due to a lack of support from stakeholders.

Speaking exclusively to Max Morning Dew in Accra on Wednesday, the Sweden-based Ghanaian singer lamented that many were those who were bullied by promoters.

He explained that since they did not have the necessary mechanisms to keep track of the promotional content, they got bullied in return.

Wills Bonney bemoaned that if an artist did not have enough funds to push their music here in Ghana, the music of the well-known ones would always enjoy massive airplay, expressing the need for stakeholders to make the field even for all musicians.

He further stated that Ghanaian musicians based outside the country were also not on the same level as the renowned ones in the country.

“For instance, because I am not in Ghana, I am unable to attend shows and events that will make me known. So this is another factor hindering my progress in the industry. However, necessary mechanisms are in place to make me blow,” Wills Bonney added.

He indicated that his management team was working around the clock to gain a collaboration with other renowned Ghanaian gospel musicians like Joe Mettle and Joe Bechem to get into the hearts of Ghanaians.
