Lawyers for Samuel Eto’o deny receiving notification of legal action against him

Date:

Lawyers for Samuel Eto’o, the president of the Cameroonian Football Federation (Fecafoot), reportedly disputed that the former striker had been informed of legal action being taken against him, according to the BBC.

The 42-year-old has been accused of many offenses, but the French law firm Vey & Associes has labeled them “calumnious rumours” and stated that Eto’o has not been informed of any legal action or received any type of summons.

On Friday, it was widely reported in the media that the four-time African Player of the Year was being investigated for alleged match-fixing, but a police report from Cameroon mentioned “abuse of authority, corruption,” as well as other unspecified allegations.

These police reports appear to be based on a censored image of a document that appears to be official-looking.
