New goalkeeper’s trainer Richard Oppong: I’m happy to have joined Hearts of Oak

Date:

Accra Hearts of Oak, a member of the Ghana Premier League (GPL) , named Richard Oppong as their new goalkeeper’s trainer on Monday.

The new goalkeepers’ trainer in an interview expressed his joy after joining the biggest team in Ghana stating that “I have been following the team and its projects and I feel it has something to do with development and the future. I believe in the things they are doing. I am very happy”.

Richard Oppong claimed that he is a devoted fan of the GPL and, more specifically, that he attends the club’s games. He thinks that the club is making progress in a way that other clubs are not, which puts Hearts of Oak far ahead of the competition.

The goalkeeper’s coach respects the club’s intention to spend money on infrastructure to advance the team.

When questioned about his first day of training, Coach Oppong said he was made to feel very welcome and that it was reciprocated.

“The reception was perfect and very cool. And I must say the players received me very well. Even the foreign players embraced me. It was a very good reception.”

The way Coach Oppong does his duties has been applauded. He has worked with many goalkeepers from different nations.

He thinks that as goalkeepers get better, fans will start to appreciate the work that is being done.

“The fans will see the works we will put in and the goalkeepers will also see improvement in their careers.”

Preparing the goalkeepers for Saturday’s CAF Confederations Cup match against Real Bamako in Bamako is his first significant task.
