Kai took to the stand to give her testimony about what happened during the night Adam died. She testified that she was at odds with Adam because of Michael’s kidnapping. But Adam asked her not to send Lucy to jail so he still cared about her.
After the hearing, Kai, Jia and David talked about what happened. They figured that Lucy was not guilty but she had to find evidence to dispute Amanda’s claim. Jia noted that Gab was nervous during the hearing and decided to find out why by visiting him.
Gab was still hoping he and Amanda would leave. Amanda was confident that Lucy would be found guilty of killing Adam so she said that they had to wait until he was convicted. They would send the original will to Jia anonymously and then leave after receiving the inheritance they would receive from Adam. Gab had the DNA test results with Adam, which had come back negative. Amanda tore them up and threw them in the trash.
Jia and David went to see Gab. They found Amanda out so they were able to speak with Gab alone. David noticed the DNA papers in the trash and took photos of them. He and Jia told Simon what they found out and he decided to contact the hospital to get the DNA results.
Lucy was hoping that the police would be able to retrieve the files from the CCTV footage because it would prove she was running after someone. She asked Dana to follow up. It was however Jia who followed up on the video. Simon was able to have the files retrieved and see the footage. They saw someone dressed in black but could not see their face. Jia however remembered seeing the coat and shoes in Amanda’s house.
Simon went to Amanda’s house to get evidence. He found the shoe and had it tested. It contained blood stains so Amanda was arrested for Adam’s murder. She pleaded guilty to the charges against her. During the hearing, Amanda revealed that she went to see Adam after the DNA results were released. He had already included them in his will but decided to change it after finding out that Gab was not his son. Amanda pleaded with him to leave something for Gab but Adam refused. She took his gun and threatened to kill herself. Adam tried to stop her and they ended up fighting over the gun. It went off and Adam got shot by accident. She took the will and fled, hiding from Lucy. She apologized to Adam’s family because she did not mean to kill Adam.
Amanda told Gab that she took all the blame so that he would not go to prison. The investigators however found out that Gab had faked the DNA results and could be charged to.
