On Monday 25th July 2022, the spotlight was on the award-winning dancehall artist Livingstone Etse Satekla, popularly known as Stonebwoy.
Stonebwoy, the Everlasting and Therapy hitmaker, revealed in an interview on the Max Morning show that he is on to unlocking ears that are different from ours (Ghanaians) because that is what can attest to his growth.
“What is new about the journey is the fact that right now there is a need to unlock a foreign audience. Actually, when I say foreign I mean ears that are different from our own ears, not necessarily geographical. There is the need to do that. It is the only way to attest to our growth,” Stonebwoy said.
According to stonebwoy, he has encountered different people with different styles and has been inspired by them.
Sharing his thoughts on the language barrier in music, the father of two stated that understanding the language in music is very important but not the ultimate but the sound. Hence, there should be the inculcation of something other people know so that they can also connect to the song.
