Obuasi based club, Ashanti Gold S/C have been demoted to Division Two of the Ghana Lower Leagues.
The reason, guilty of match manipulation in the 2020/2021 Ghana Premier League Matchday 34 against Inter-Allies.
After a heavy scrutiny by the disciplinary committee over a one year span, the Disciplinary Committee has sanctioned all Club Officials and Players of Ashanti Gold who participated in the above mentioned match.
The sanction takes immediate effect from the 2022/2023 League Season, thus Ashanti Gold would have to work their way up the premiership again.
