Date:

The Black Queens of Ghana have been handed what appears to be a difficult draw for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Nora Hauptle’s Queens will face the winner of the first (1st) round double-legged tie between Rwanda and Egypt in the second round (2nd). The second round (2nd) matches are scheduled to take place from October 20 to 28, 2025.

Format

The first (1st) round is composed of thirty-two (32) teams. (The best 6 ranked teams according to the FIFA ranking are
exempted from this round).

The best six (6) ranked teams are Nigeria, South Africa, Zambia, Ghana, Cameroon, and Ivory Coast.

The sixteen (16) qualified teams from the first round, in addition to the six (6) exempted teams, will play the second (2nd) round. The eleven (1)1 winning teams will qualify for the final tournament.
