Ghana remains locked in an intense battle for automatic qualification in Group I of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
The Black Stars secured victories against Central African Republic and Mali, putting them momentarily atop the standings. However, their lead was short-lived as Comoros secured a crucial win over Chad, propelling them to the group’s summit.
Comoros’ 2-0 victory over Chad pushed Ghana to second place, despite both teams having three wins in four games. Comoros now leads based on a superior goal difference (+4) compared to Ghana’s (+2). Meanwhile, Madagascar sits third with seven points, following a goalless draw with Mali, who trails with five points.
