2025 AFCON Q: Williams, Paintsil return for Black Stars qualifiers

Date:

Black Stars head coach, Otto Addo, has recalled Joseph Paintsil and Inaki Williams to the squad for the 2025 African Cup of Nations qualifiers against Angola and Niger.

The two aforementioned returnees were not part of Ghana’s last two games in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Mali and Chad due to injuries.

Another notable returnee is Majeed Ashimeru, who had also been absent since Ghana’s pitiful performance at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations held in Ivory Coast in January and February of 2024 under former head coach Chris Hughton.

The stars are expected to be arriving for camping during the upcoming weekend ahead of the crunch qualifiers, which would be live on Max TV.
