Raja Club Athletic will welcome 2023-24 Ghana Premier League winners FC Samartex to the Stade Larbi Zaouli for the second leg of the CAF Champions League second preliminary round on Saturday, September 21, at 7 p.m.
Rusmir Cviko, head coach of the Moroccan giants, promised a good match against the Ghanaians in Casablanca following the first leg at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Mohammed Boulacsout pegged back Samartex after Francis Gyentuah and Michael Ephson had scored to give the Ghanaian champions the lead in the first half.
Samartex, led by head coach Nurudeen Amadu, arrived in Casablanca on Thursday afternoon from Accra, where they had been based for days preparing for the big clash against Raja.
Ahead of the match, Ebenezer Acquah admitted it is going to be an uphill task, but he and his teammates are ready for the challenge.
“It’s obvious that we have a challenging task ahead of us, but we are fully committed to putting forth every effort and utilizing all our resources throughout the entirety of the game to ensure the best possible outcome,” he said.
A win for Samartex will seal their place in the group stages of the 2024-25 CAF Champions League.
