2023 CAF CC: Dreams FC to repeat Luanda heroics at Baba Yara

Date:

MTN FA Cup champions Dreams FC will take on Academica Do Lobito in the return leg of the CAF Confederations Cup group stage match at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Wednesday, December 20, 2023.

The Still Believe boys are tied on 6 points with Club Africain and Rivers United after beating Angolan side Academica Do Lobito ten days ago at the Estádio 11 de Novembro in Luanda.

Academica Do Lobito’s defender, Joao Valonga Basilio Barros, quickly cancelled out Abdul Aziz’s brilliant opener in the first half.

The experienced John Antwi and Aholou Gael Avocevou scored in the 58th and 88th minutes, respectively, to give Dreams a cushioned lead before Samuel Cachimbombo managed to pull a goal back for the Angolans at the death.

Dreams FC, despite the late fightback from their opponents, held on to clinch maximum points.

Karim Zito’s side will be looking forward to repeating their heroics in Luanda today in match day 4 of the CAF Confederation Cup. The match will be live on Max TV. Watch the build-up to the game on Max TV Ghana on YouTube at 3 p.m.
