The Minister for Employment and Labour Relations, Abdul-Rashid Pelpuo, has announced that the 10% salary increase for public sector workers will take effect from March 2025.
He urged institutions to adjust salaries accordingly.
The government approved the increment after negotiations with labour unions, following President John Mahama’s appeal for acceptance.
Ghana’s last public sector salary increase was in 2024, with a 23% raise to address the cost of living.
Speaking in Accra on February 20, Pelpuo stated that the national daily minimum wage has also increased by 10% to 19.97 Cedis, effective March 1, 2025. Institutions paying below this must comply.
