Budding young Ghanaian midfielder Caleb Yirenkyi has been a shining light for Ghana since his debut in 2025.
The highly sought-after Nordsjælland youngster, who made his first appearance for Ghana under the previous head coach, Otto Addo, in the 2025 Unity Cup, has become a mainstay in the team.
The Portuguese manager, Carlos Queiroz, who replaced Addo with just 60 days to the tournament, moved Yirenkyi back to his natural position in the midfield after having been used in the last year as a right-back—a position that showed his versatility.
With just two games under his belt after the coming of Queiroz, Yirenkyi has managed to score all two goals for the coach in his term so far.
Reacting after producing yet another convincing performance, he lauded his coach for instant impact on him.
“I think it is the lessons. He gives us great lessons. We do a lot of training with a lot of intensity. Not just me, but we all help each other out and hope for the best.”
