Kumawood actor Yaw Dabo has expressed concern about using military officers to supervise West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
According to him, the act is an intimidation that will lead candidates to fail the examination.
In a viral video circulating on social media, Dabo said the presence of the security at this year’s examination halls was disrupting the focus of candidates.
“I have seen a video online, and I am saddened by it. Has it gotten to the point where they are using military personnel as invigilators during WASSCE? The man in the video, going up and down, checking what they have written, is causing fear and panic. How can they have a sound mind to write their papers?” he asked.
Dabo appealed to the Ghana Education Service (GES) to ease the pressure on students, arguing that exam malpractice was not anything new to them.
“Everyone has cheated during exams, including the police and the fire service. You people should stop putting pressure on these kids. This thing doesn’t happen to kids abroad. Most of these kids won’t even get jobs whether they pass or not,” he alleged.
