English Women’s Super League champions, Chelsea scored in the last seconds to tie Manchester City after the home team suffered two costly dismissals.
After Alex Greenwood and Lauren Hemp were both dismissed for City, Guro Reiten tucked in from close range following a flurry in the area to tie it 1-1 in the 96th minute and cancel out Chloe Kelly’s opening goal.
The 38th minute saw City captain Greenwood receive a second caution for idling, and 81 minutes later, Hemp received a second caution for pulling down Lauren James.
Following Hemp’s dismissal, the crowd erupted once more, and manager Gareth Taylor received a warning for dissent.
Before Reiten’s late equalizer hushed the home supporters, James hit the crossbar.
But City held on to continue their remarkable 20-game home unbeaten streak in the WSL.
