The four people who lost their lives when their vehicle plunged the Owabi River in the Atwima Nwabigya North District of the Ashanti Region have been identified.
Eyewitness accounts indicated that the vehicle sped into the overflown river due to a recent heavy downpour.
The driver of the Opel saloon car, identified as 40-year-old seamstress Helena Yasan, and one of her two children, Lordina Yasan (10) died, and Doreen Yasan (5), is yet to be found in the heartbreaking incident, which occurred on the morning of Tuesday, October 29, 2024.
Rita Agyare, a 41-year-old teacher, and a 28-year-old plumber, Eric Gyasi Boamah, who the driver picked up on the way, have also been identified as the other victims.
Efforts are still being made by officials of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), Fire Service, and Police Service to locate the whereabouts of Doreen Yassan.
