Berekum Chelsea star Stephen Amankona is set to be named in the Black Stars squad to compete at the 2025 Unity Cup.
The former Asante Kotoko player has produced stellar performances so far in the 2024-25 Ghana Premier League season.
Amankona currently leads the goalscoring chart in Ghana’s top flight with 13 goals after 31 games. He is favourite to end the season as goal king despite being closely chased by Faisal Charwatey (Nations FC) and Nana Kwame Oppong (Heart of Lions), both on 11 goals.
He will be one of five locally based stars to travel to Brentford, London, to participate in the biggest West African and West Caribbean competition, the Unity Cup.
Jamaica will kick off the tournament against Trinidad and Tobago on May 27, before Ghana takes on Nigeria on May 28 for a place in the final on May 31.
