The Road Will Be Long— Mbappe declares

Date:

After scoring a decisive brace, Kylian Mbappe emphasized the importance of making a strong start to the tournament, while reminding everyone that the toughest challenges still lie ahead.

On his social media, the France captain wrote: “Always important to start with a win. The road will be long, but we are ready.”

Thanks in large part to their captain’s outstanding performance, France dominated the Lions of Teranga and secured a 3-1 victory.

The French striker broke the deadlock in the 66th minute before Bradley Barcola doubled the lead in the 82nd.

Although Ibrahima Mbaye gave Senegal hope by pulling one back deep into added time (90+5′), Mbappé sealed the deal for Les Bleus with his second goal of the night just a minute later (90+6′).
