Black Stars of Ghana head coach Otto Addo has insisted there is more time for his team to improve ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Black Stars capped off a challenging 2025 FIFA international football calendar with a defeat to South Korea on Tuesday, November 18, 2025.
2025 began with an overwhelming 5-0 home win over Chad (World Cup Qualifiers), a 0-3 away win over Madagascar (World Cup Qualifiers), a 2-1 defeat to Nigeria (Unity Cup), and a 4-0 victory over Trinidad and Tobago (Unity Cup).
Ghana booked a place at next year’s World Cup with three wins and a draw before engaging Japan and South Korea in friendly matches, which they lost both to end the international calendar.
Speaking to journalists in Seoul, Otto Addo believes there is more time for the Black Stars to improve in certain areas before the start of the World Cup in June.
“For the World Cup, there are still some months to go for us to improve. Surely also in all aspects, in pressing and creating chances, but also not allowing chances, there’s still room to improve, especially for Ghana. I can’t speak too much about South Korea because, like I said, they did well today. But Japan on a very high level,”
