Ghana’s Minister for Sports and Recreation, Hon. Kofi Iddie Adams, has revealed the sponsor of the Ghana Premier League (GPL).
The club is in Ghana; not until the return of President John Dramani Mahama into office have they received any substantial support.
Having struggled to bring on board sponsors for Ghana’s elite football division till a timely intervention in 2025.
At a launch event to unveil the broadcaster of the 2025/26 GPL, the president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku, announced the government’s investment into the league.

Speaking to Max TV in an interview, the Sports Minister confirmed the Mahama-led administration as the sponsor of the league.
“Government is sponsoring it (GPL) and intends to continue to sponsor up to a point that the clubs can be on their feet,” he said on the Sports Pack show.
He added that once clubs become financially stable, funds will be directed to other areas as the government remains focused on building the domestic clubs and leagues.
“Government is interested in building our domestic clubs and leagues,” he continued, while lamenting the poor promotion of the league.
