The suspension of four members of parliament by the speaker of the august house, Alban Bagbin has been rescinded.
Majority Chief Whip and MP for South Dayi, Rockson Nelson Dafeamakpor; Minority Chief Whip and MP for Nsawam-Adoagyiri,Frank Annor-Dompreh; MP for Gushiegu, Alhassan Sulemana Tampuli; and the MP for Weija-Gbawe, Jerry Ahmed Shaib, were barred from parliament.
The suspension, by the speaker, followed a confrontation that erupted during a vetting session on Thursday, January 30, 2025.
Minority leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin and majority leader Mahama Ayariga appealed to the speaker to lift the suspension on the four MPs.
The speaker’s move for the restoration of order means all four MPs would return to normal proceedings of the house, especially with the ministerial vetting process expected to continue.
