Former Lands and Natural Resources Minister, Samuel Abu Jinapor, has got social media in an uproar by certain unwarranted comments towards two members of the Majority in Parliament.
The Member of Parliament for Damango Constituency, Jinapor, during an address on the floor, made disturbing remarks towards the Member of Parliament for Korle Klottey, Zanetor Agyemang-Rawlings.
Hon. Agyemang-Rawlings, who is the daughter of one the most illustrious leaders in the history of Ghana, the late Flight Lieutenant Jerry John Rawlings, was referred by Hon. Jinapor as “daughter of a murderer.”
“Daughter of murderer, sit down! Na s3 evidence wo ho s3 ne papa kum nipa (there’s evidence her father committed murder),” he said while minority leader, Hon. Alexander Afenyo-Markin was on floor.
He further proceeded to mock the Member of Parliament for the Ningo-Prampram Constituency, Hon. Samuel Nartey George, saying, “Sam George, who calls himself ‘Gyata’ (Lion) is now in the pocket of his wife.”
The outcomes of Tuesday’s sitting in Parliament is creating a bitter taste in the mouths of neutral political enthusiasts, considering social media commentary.
