A Chinese warehouse behind Oliver Twist Pub and Restaurant in Lartebiokoshie in Accra has been gutted by an inferno.

The fire, which began around 4pm on Tuesday morning, spread quickly, destroying seven other houses in the residential area.

Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) were still at the scene at 8:50pm, battling to bring the blaze under control and prevent it from spreading further.

Although the exact cause of the initial explosion remains unknown, preliminary reports indicate a potential connection to a power-related incident.

There has been no immediate confirmation of casualties.
