St. Charles Minor Seminary SHS delivered a commanding performance in the second contest of the Northern Regional Qualifiers of the 2025 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ), finishing far ahead of their rivals and declaring the contest “too simple.”

The Tamale-based Catholic boys’ school scored an impressive 46 points, comfortably outpacing Vitting SHS with 27 points and Bimbilla SHS, who finished with 13.

“The contest was too simple because our opponents weren’t good enough. If they were, they would have won it,” a confident St. Charles team member remarked after the match.

The result cements St. Charles’ status as one of the most consistent NSMQ forces from the Northern Region, earning them another trip to the national championship.

Vitting SHS showed moments of competitiveness, especially in the middle rounds, but couldn’t close the gap. While they’ve yet to reach the nationals, their progress this year signals potential for future success.

Bimbilla SHS, meanwhile, faced difficulties throughout the contest. Despite bursts of effort, they struggled to build momentum.

St. Charles now joins Northern School of Business (NOBISCO) as official qualifiers from the region. More contests remain as schools battle for a place at the national stage of NSMQ 2025.
