The league that matters— The Ghana Premier League (GPL) has sprung up yet another shocking twist to the plot of the 2024/25 season with a week to its climax.
Well, unsurprisingly, at an extremely high-stakes matchweek 33 encounter at the CAM Park in Anyinase, Nations FC, appalled by the suspicious officiating by referees, pulled out of the game.
Reports from the match venue indicate that owner and patron of the Nations FC, Dr Kwame Kyei, ordered his team off the pitch following questionable calls by referee-in-charge Mohammed Mosibau and his assistants in favour of the home team, Basake Holy Stars, a team fighting relegation.
An official statement by the Abrankese-based club read:
With Bibiani Gold Stars winning their game 2-3 away against Berekum Chelsea, they are now level on points with the league leaders Nations FC.
