The Inspector-General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has assigned seven police officers to higher ranks of the Ghana Police Service for the courageous role they played in the anti-robbery operation in Tema.
This follows their immediate response to a robbery attack on a mobile money vendor at Tema Comm. 5, which led to the shooting of two suspects and the recovery of some illegal items.
Those promoted include Chief Inspector Enoch Nartey Nuer, Inspector Gershon Dekpey, Inspector Prince Asante, Sergeant Lukman Mohammed, Sergeant Eugene Kuudouru, Corporal Jerome Akator, and Lance Corporal Jonathan Sewurah.
The promotions took place on April 14, 2026, with the IGP, alongside members of the Police Management Board, praising the officers for what he described as boldness, commitment, and hard work.
Mr Yohuno encouraged the officers to see this promotion as a responsibility to uphold higher standards of
professionalism in performing their duties.
