Korle Bu Community Chapel Retains Awana Bible Quiz Crown

Date:

Korle Bu Community Chapel (KBCC) successfully defended their title at the 2026 Awana Ghana Bible Quiz on Saturday, April 4, 2026.

The competition, held at Global Revival Ministries, showcased intense speed rounds and deep scriptural knowledge among participating youth teams.

Organised by Awana Clubs Ghana, the competition brought together nine (9) churches to compete in a rigorous format featuring strategic multiple-choice questions and an intense speed quiz.

The atmosphere reached a fever pitch during the final round. The defending champions faced a fierce challenge from Truth Missionary Baptist Church (TMBC), Dansoman.

The contest remained tight until the very last question of the speed quiz. A missed answer by TMBC in the final moments allowed Korle Bu to pull ahead, securing victory with a total of 1,890 points against TMBC’s 1,880.

Despite the narrow loss, TMBC boasted standout individual performances; ten-year-old Samuel Mawunu Wortey and 13-year-old Raymond Mawuli Dziwornu both delivered flawless performances, recording perfect scores by acing all 10 multiple-choice questions and three speed-round questions each.

The event was moderated by Pastor Ken Gamel, Awana’s Southern Sector Missionary, who served as quizmaster.

Pastor Gamel reaffirmed Awana Ghana’s commitment to youth evangelism, stressing their mission to share the Gospel with more children through free local clubs.

The competition featured several participating churches, including Changed Life Baptist, Shalom and Unity Baptist (Teshie), Dansoman Community Club, Liberty Baptist Church, Pantang United, and the Church of Pentecost (Kasoa).

When the final results were announced, Korle Bu supporters celebrated their second consecutive victory, capping off another success.
