Five suspects have been arrested in connection with the assault on the Kade SHTS teacher.

The Ghana Police Service Cyber Security Unit, with support from the Kade Police, apprehended the suspects on Monday, January 5, 2026.

President John Dramani Mahama, on the day of the arrest, condemned the incident and other student-teacher-related assaults in the schools across the country.

Eastern Regional Chairman of the National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT), Awoonor Yevu Godwin, has confirmed to Citinews the arrest of the suspects.

The victim, Michael Quayson, was ambushed and attacked by a group of students in December 2025, sparking outrage from the public.
