Veteran singer, Mzbel has disclosed that people from the Ga community have been threatening her after a statement she made about the tribe.
She was alleged to have said on Joy Prime entertainment program that she would not employ any Ga person due to their laziness.
However, she has dismissed the claims and has urged the sites which published such false news to take it down.
According to her, many news outlets and the blogging sites misquoted her, hence painted her badly.
Addressing the issue in an exclusive interview with Max TV ‘s e-Quick show in Accra on Monday, the songstress stated that she acknowledged the Ga people in everything that she does.
”I really respect them and because I am on Ga land, when I was setting up my business, I followed the ga cultural rite. Even my daughter whose father is not a Ga man, we did every rite in the Ga tradition to acknowledge them,” she said.
Dismissing the rumors that she would not employ any Ga person, Mzbel admitted that she said she would not employ anyone from that tribe.
However, she claimed that it was due to an experience she had in the past with a Ga person she worked with.
Mzbel said after she was misquoted, she received lots of threat messages and audios from the people of the Ga community and was later told to apologise.
”I will not apologize because they have already threatened my life with lots of messages and audios. They even came to my work place to threaten me. Even if I said something wrong, you shouldn’t threaten my life but because they did that I will also not apologize,” she added.
