Musicians who couldn’t work with Kaywa are not humble – Joy Verse

Date:

Highly spiritual signee Ishmael Tetteh, known in entertainment circles as Joy Verse, has condemned those criticizing his label boss Kaywa for being unsupportive.

According to him, those musicians or the critics who could not stay with Kaywa were not humble.

Speaking in an interview on the Max Morning Show in Accra on Friday, Joy Verse indicated that before one could work or stay with someone, the person first had to be humble.

He noted that when he joined the label, he heard so many unpalatable stories about Kaywa, but one thing he realized was that Kaywa was loving and was not judgmental.

Joy Verse stated that aside from God and his parents, Kaywa was his everything, and he was not saying that because he was working under his label.

“Kaywa loves everyone around him, and he doesn’t do favoritism. When he hears something about you, he will not condemn you based on that. He will work with you and see the means by which he could help you overcome and improve on yourself without sacking or judging you,” he added.

It is noted that Kaywa has worked with renowned musicians like Mr. Drew and Lasmid, with whom they all parted ways after their contract ended.

Kaywa felt unhappy with how those musicians left his label, which sparked lots of controversies about how some labels in Ghana were rather benefiting at the expense of their signees.

Many had thought he wouldn’t have gotten the zeal to sign any artists again, but surprisingly, he signed four talented young artists last year, including the multi-lingual musician Joy Verse.

Joy Verse is an Afrobeat musician who got signed to Highly Spiritual in 2023 through the effort of his cousin Kilson.

Under highly spiritual conditions, he released songs like “Wahala” and “All Day.” Joy Verse has a dream of becoming an international artist with his 17 languages and becoming a pencil artist as well.
